Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, said more than eleven universities from Iran and the two neighboring countries will be attending the conference as part of efforts for networking the Muslim world academics, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He made the comments in a meeting with Sayyed Ahmad Fazelzadeh, the president of the Islamic World Science and Technology Monitoring and Citation Institute (ISC) in Shiraz.

“Our objective is to establish a network of scientific boards from universities across the world of Islam and expand the academic relations among them”, said the cleric.

According to Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari the conference will be held in three meetings held in Iran, Turkey and Iraq beginning with Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad hosting the first event on November 11.

He called the upcoming conference in Mashhad as a complement to the annual Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week.

The cleric said 11 topics and nearly 50 subtopics were proposed for the articles received by the secretariat of the conference.

Also in this meeting, Esmail Noori, the cultural deputy of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said some 300 abstracts from 47 universities have been received from Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, Algiers, Egypt and India.
