Sheikh Naim Qassem Appointed as Hezbollah Secretary-General
Hezbollah has announced the appointment of Sheikh Naim Qassem as its new Secretary-General, following the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Sheikh Qassem, who had served as Deputy Secretary-General since 1991, will now lead the movement.

The statement also pledged allegiance to the memory of Nasrallah and reiterated Hezbollah's dedication to its goals, stating, "We vow before Almighty God, the revered martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the martyrs of the Islamic Resistance, and our steadfast and loyal nation that we will uphold the principles and goals of Hezbollah and keep the flame of resistance alive until victory is achieved."
Sheikh Qassem played a prominent role in the establishment of Hezbollah alongside Imam Musa al-Sadr and helped form the Amal Movement, also known as "Harakat al-Mahrumin" (Movement of the Deprived).
