The Muslim clerics have called on the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to end military relations with the Israeli regime in support of the Palestinian nation.
The demand was made at a meeting of the prominent Indian scholars entitled “Save Constitution” discussing the topic “Key issues of India’s Muslim Community and Challenges ahead”.
Syed Arshad al-Madani Deoband, speaking at this meeting, criticized Indian government over its stance regarding the Palestinians and expressed regret for the Indian Premier’s support for the Israeli regime.
He said that the Palestinians today are fighting for freedom same way that Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaherlal Nehru fought for liberation of their land.
Al-Madani expressed regret over any possible support of New Delhi for the Israeli regime and the Indian-manufactured arms used against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Indian government and the Israeli regime have expanded relations under the premiership of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, which has mostly coincided with the premiership of Benjamin Netanyahu both of whom leading right-wing nationalist parties.
