Iran denounces American-Zionist plot for Syria, vows US to achieve nothing

“Recent events in the region, not least the developments in Syria, indicate the continuation of the evil, insecurity, and depth of the hostility of the global arrogance, led by the great evil of the criminal America, against freedom-seeking nations,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces said in a statement.

“There should be no doubt that what has happened in Syria is the product of a joint American and Zionist plot. It is obvious that the hegemonic system led by the US in the West Asian region is seeking to achieve its evil goals, including the plundering of resources and enslaving Muslims.”

The General Staff of the Armed Forces also underlined the Islamic Republic’s readiness for a crushing and firm response to any threats and acts of aggression against the country.

The statement said the global arrogance, led by the wicked America and with the help of the evil and child-killing Zionist regime, spared no effort over the years to confront the 1979 Islamic Revolution and its goals but faced successive and ignominious defeats.

Stressing that global arrogance considers the Islamic Republic to be the greatest obstacle to its oppression and crime, the statement said, “Therefore, it is trying to use all international and regional capacities to overcome this obstacle.”

“However, if it reviews its past days, it will understand that, as in the past, all their aspirations will be trampled on by the heroic nation of Islamic Iran, and by God’s grace, they will not achieve anything in Syria either.”
