Referring to the necessity of following up and implementing the agreements made between Iran and Türkiye, the president emphasised the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to strengthen and promote cooperation in the field of energy, and expressed hope that cooperation of the two sides would play a role in securing the interests of the two nations and also increase unity among the Islamic Ummah.
In another part of his speech in this telephone conversation, Dr Raisi pointed out the indescribable suffering and pain of the people of Gaza caused by the continuation of the crimes of the usurping Zionist regime despite the issuance of a ceasefire resolution by the United Nations Security Council and said, “The Zionist regime does not adhere not only to this resolution but also to any international laws, treaties and covenants, and violating more than 400 international statements and resolutions shows the aggressive, law-breaking and anti-human nature of this regime, which necessitates the serious cooperation of Islamic countries to support the oppressed people of Gaza”.
Stating that today the Islamic Ummah expects the leaders of the Islamic countries to show a decisive and deterrent action to stop the genocide and crimes of the Zionists in Palestine, the President emphasised the need for the cooperation of the Islamic countries under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and other regional and international organisations to provide relief and help to the people of Gaza and said, “In a situation where the American government continues to provide extensive financial and arms support to the criminal Zionist regime, one of the most deterrent and effective ways to force the Zionists to stop committing crimes in Gaza is to completely cut off political and economic relations with this regime”.
Dr Raisi also emphasised the necessity of cooperation and unity of Islamic countries in the field of sending humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip to prevent famine in Palestine and announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic for any initiative in this field.
In this telephone conversation, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while congratulating the Iranian government and nation on the days of the Divine Feast, as well as congratulating the successful holding of the elections of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and Assembly of Experts, and expressed the commitment of the Turkish government to follow up and implement the agreements reached in the Supreme Council of Iran-Türkiye Cooperation during the recent visit of the Islamic President of Iran to the country.
