International Physics Olympiad 2024 Kicks off in Isfahan
In a ceremony in the central city of Isfahan, the 54th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) was inaugurated.

On Monday morning in a ceremony in Isfahan, IPho 2024 was inaugurated.
198 students from Iran, Russia, China, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Romania, Turkiye, Mexico, Georgia, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Croatia, Colombia, Belarus, Kuwait, and Vietnam will participate in the nine-day event which will be begun officially on Monday at the Isfahan University of Technology.
The first IPhO was held in Poland in 1967.
Iran also hosted the International Astronomy, Computer, and Biology Olympiads over the past years. Since 1982, it has been held regularly every year.
After 2007, This is the second time that Iran has hosted the IPhO.
