Iran, Lebanon to drop visa requirements

Beirut - Taqrib News Agency (TNA) - Iran envoy to Lebanon has said "What happened in the Lebanese cabinet a few weeks ago about the visa, is a step to obtain a visa in the access points."

"Any Iranian or Lebanese naional does not need to review the embassy in order to obtain a visa on condition that does not remain in country more than two weeks", Iranian diplomat Ghazanfar Roknabadi said.

Roknabadi's words came during a graduation of students of the Institute of sayyed Abbas Musawi in Baalbek (85 km from Beirut).

The Iranian diplomat pointed that "the issue of droping visa started two years ago during the mandate of former Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri in all measures, and it was followed up with the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, and we agreed to enable the brothers in Iran and Lebanon to obtain visas at points of access in both countries".

Regarding the recent international resolutions and veto of China and Russia against the US-backed ban on Syria at the UN Security Council, Roknabadi said "Since year 1948 and the founding of the illegal Zionist entity, any decision issued in favor of the Palestinian issue was faced by U.S. veto, and since more than 60 years did not allow any issuance of any decision in favor of this issue, at the same time they have to endure when they encounter any veto by others that does not adjust and so far we still hear about the membership of a Palestinian state in the Security Council and the United Nations first, on which the are practicing enormous pressures against any support of a Palestinian state and threatening a veto."

Roknabadi asked how they boycott and ban a state that support the resistance? Asserting that "this is not normal and on this basis we consider in Syria, there are demands of reform, but at the same time the Syrian people is in favor of the system, especially at this particular stage, and everyone in Syria, should not be affected by the managed conspiracies from abroad, and President of the Republic Assad began the reforms before asking him that.

"We have seen in recent weeks, an improvement in the situation and that the Syrian government meet the demands of reform," the envoy concluded.
