War Minister Ehud Barak, canceled his participation in the Conference of the SABAN Forum in Washington, which will be held at the beginning of next December, also the Secretary of Zionist State Avigdor Lieberman will cancel his participation in this conference, according to Haaretz newspaper which attributed the reason to letters sent to Barak and Lieberman from the Office of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Israeli media reported that the Iranian nuclear program will be one of the main topics discussed at the forum in which Barak and Lieberman intended to speak in this regard. The office of Israeli Prime Minister, a few days ago asked to Barak and Lieberman, not to deliver words regarding the Iranian issue at the present time, especially because of the sensitivity of international and Israeli desire to reduce the tone of this subject in order not to damage international efforts to impose additional sanctions on Iran.
According to Haaretz, the request to cancel Barak and Lieberman was to avoid public confrontation, on the subject of Iran on the SABAN platform, with former Mossad chief Meir Dagan and former Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, who opposed the attack against Iran.
It is to note that Saban Forum is held in the month of December of each year, and it is specialized to research American- Zionist relations, and participate in this conference U.S administration officials, ministers and Knesset members and high-level Zionists officials. It is expected that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden's will deliver words in the Conference.
