“There will be no peace as long as Palestine is under Israeli occupation,” Mahmoud al-Habbash, the Palestinian Authority’s top Sharia judge and President Mahmoud Abbas’s adviser on religious and Islamic affairs, said in a speech at the 20th International Muslim Forum in the Russian capital Moscow on Saturday.
The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, stressed that the October 7 operation by the movement has brought the global attention back to the Palestinian refugee issue.
“This hostile act is an attempt by that entity to escape from the internal disintegration witnessed there.” the ministry added on its account on Twitter.
Palestine has hailed an announcement by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) which confirms receiving a request from the United Nations to issue opinion on legality of the Israeli occupation.
The joint report, issued by the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, and Wadi Hilweh Information Center, said this percentage of arrests is the highest compared to the previous year, particularly in the West Bank.
He said the meeting is the next step after the UN General Assembly's passing of a resolution earlier this week calling on the ICJ to give an advisory opinion on the consequences of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories
