Protesters in major Pakistani cities have taken to the streets following a failed terror attempt targeting former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday.
Protest rallies were organized in cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Malakand, Multan Khanewal, Khyber, Jhang, and Quetta, with demonstrators shouting slogans against the Opposition.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently the Leader of the Opposition in the national assembly, is all set to become the new prime minister of the country, according to media reports.
