Islam, religion of justice, freedom and human rights: Iranian cleric
Iranian cleric stressed necessity of confrontation with Takfiri (excommunication) movements and respect for human rights and lauded Islam as the religion of justice, liberty and human rights.

Ayatollah Sheikh Abbas Ka’abi, from the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, met with Sunni scholar from Africa to assimilate Takfiri groups to a cancerous tumor which should be immediately removed and hailed Islam as the religion of justice, freedom and human rights, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He stressed importance of confrontation with Takfiri groups and maintaining respect for human rights in the African Muslim countries and urged the authorities and the people to join each other for that end.
The cleric referred to Fatwa (Islamic religious statement) as a power for Islam and expressed regret that deviate froups like Wahhabis have gone beyond extremes in this regard to issue inappropriate statements.
Ayatollah Ka’abi referred to the Christian creed in some African countries and highlighted the various commonalities between the holy religion and Islam saying,” Based on these shared views, we should realize monotheism, justice, respectable lifestyle and also confrontation with poverty and ignorance.”
Member of the Assembly of Experts stressed that issuing Fatwa should not be merely on religious affairs rather it should also include social, cultural, educational movements so that it promotes the globe status quo.
“A Mufti is Islam’s spokesperson” said the cleric and added,” Hence he should issue a fatwa to express the Islamic view whenever a move is made against humanity, morality and religious ideologies.”
Ayatollah Ka’abi said,” There is no room for terrorism in real Islam; therefore, Muftis should launch a society to defend the human rights to stand up for the rights of the people in different grounds.”
Iranian cleric counted the most important issues which should be addressed by Muftis including; explanation of true Islam against its American-style, building a powerful and unified society, holding religious conventions, launching economic and social institutions to defend the rights of different walks of life, stressing Islamic unity and also avoiding provoking issues.
