Prominent religious elites, academicians attended conference on prospects of Islamic unity in Tunis discussing the most necessary steps towards Islamic unity.

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought attended the conference on prospects of Islamic Unity and challenges in Tunisian capital of Tunis highlighting culture, science, esteem as the solutions for issues in the world of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He stressed common leadership to be followed by all members of an Islamic community as the key condition for a unified Islamic nation and said,” This is not merely a motto because by a common leader we mean the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) who was unanimously followed and obeyed by all.”
Ayatollah Araki noted,” Our present society is inundated with ignorance” and added,” Where are these bombs (for terror attacks) come from? Who is paying for them? Why are we spending billions of dollars to buy weapons? To kill our very own nation?”
Member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts stressed,” Islam is our sole weapon and our culture and glory are solutions for our issues.”
He reiterated solidarity as a great necessity for the Islamic nation and said,” We should note that European countries, with their common currency, geographical zone, legislation and political system, have safeguarded themselves against enemies”
The cleric said,” The greatest assets are the world are owned by Muslim countries. Islamic states are bridging the east to the west and north to the south while we are the weakest nation in the world only because of our dispersion.”
Ayatollah Araki expressed regret over the several issues which have harassed the world of Islam and demanded elites, thinkers and academicians to contribute for solving Muslim world issues.
