Hollande's office said Monday that the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday and the two leaders will address the crisis in Iraq, where the ISIL Takfiri militants are wreaking havoc.

The ISIL terrorists are in control of some areas in Syria and have captured large swathes of land in neighboring Iraq. Tehran has on several occasions called for collective and sincere global action against the terrorists.

Also on the agenda of the meeting between Hollande and Rouhani will be the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program.

Iran and the P5+1 group – Russia, China, the United States, Britain, France and Germany – are holding a fresh round of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear energy program in New York to reach a final agreement aimed at resolving the standoff over Tehran’s civilian nuclear work.

According to the British sources, UK Prime Minister David Cameron is also scheduled to meet President Rouhani on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York.
