'US cannot be trusted': Ayat. Movahedi Kermani

Tehran's provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani blasted Washington for defying its undertakings under the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers, stressing that the Iranian nation doesn’t trust the US at all.
Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people on Tehran University campus on Friday, Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani said, "The people don’t trust the US and its allies even an iota and they are well aware of the US record of betrayal. As we see in the nuclear deal, the sanctions (against Iran) were due to be removed all together but they are increasing instead."

According to Rasa, He also warned Washington against any military aggression against Iran, stressing that the Iranian forces will leave no place safe for the US if the latter embarks on hostile action against Tehran.

His remarks came after Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi underlined that the US is seeking to ruin the positive aspects of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) since it is unable to violate the nuclear deal with Iran.

Qassemi's comments came in reaction to a recent decision by the US governing body to review Iran's nuclear deal.

"The US administration is unable to violate Iran's nuclear deal on its own, thus seeks to neutralize the deal’s positive results for Iran by imposing sanctions," the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said.

He reiterated that given the multi-national dimensions of the JCPOA, it seems that US President Donald Trump and the US governing body cannot make attempts to violate the deal on their own, and the measures that they have taken recently against Iran clearly indicate this fact.

"That is why the US has turned its focus to imposing anti-Iranian political, economic and psychological measures in other bills, and is interested in neutralizing the JCPOA’s positive outcomes through these channels,” Qassemi said, while referring to the new anti-Iranian sanctions imposed by the US and the country’s psychological warfare on turning the world’s economic, industrial and trade institutions against interaction with Iran.

"Today more than ever, we are ready to take appropriate actions in various fields in response to any anti-Iranian measure by the US," he stressed.
