Top Sunni cleric underlines necessity of Islamic unity

Molavi Abdul Hmaid Esmaeel Zehi, senior Sunni cleric in Zahedan, in his weekly sermon highlighted convergence of all Islamic denominations as the secret for development of Sistan and Baluchistan Province, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to Islamic and Qur’anic teachings which stress fraternity among all Muslims and said,” Unity of Shia and Sunni and also solidarity among all tribes and groups of people will lead to boosting the stance of our country.”

Manager of the religious school of Sunni community in Sistan and Baluchistan Province reiterated that the security will not prevail in the region unless with the unity and cooperation of all people and quoted President Hassan Rouhani in his recent visit that solidarity and close cooperation of the people and authorities will lead security and promotion of the border areas of Iran.

He highlighted the moderate strategy of President Rouhani and vowed that the positive effects of the recent visit made by the President will soon be seen by all.

Molavi Esmaeel Zehi also congratulated birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima, daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Mothers’ Day calling Hazrat Zahra as the perfect example for all women to whom the promotion of Islam is owed.

Prominent Sunni prayer leader highlighted the high status of women in Islam and said certainly spread of Islam is due to cooperation and sacrifice made by Muslim women.
