Over 200 Saudi soldiers were also injured in the attack, Yemeni media sources reported early on Wednesday.

Also on Wednesday, Yemeni forces backed by popular committees fighters launched a rocket attack on a Saudi military base in the southwestern Dhahran al-Janub region, inflicting heavy damage on Saudi forces.

Yemenis launch such attacks in retaliation for Saudi Arabia’s merciless airstrikes, carried out since March 26. The relentless attacks on the impoverished county are carried out without authorization from the United Nations and regardless of international calls for the halting of the onslaught.

According to the UN, over 3,000 Yemenis have been killed and 14,000 more injured in over three months of conflict in the country.

The Saudi aggression against Yemen began with the main objective of weakening the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restoring power to Riyadh’s staunch ally, fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
