Muharram mourning ceremony held in Shah Cheragh shrine, Shiraz (photo)

The holy shrine of Shah Cheragh (AS), brother of Imam Reza (AS), 8th Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) hosted pilgrims and mourners for Muharram ceremonies which mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS). Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam who rose against the tyrant ruler of his time, Yazid ibn Muawiyah and was martyred along with 72 of his companions in the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD.
