Ayat. Khamenei attends Muharram mourning procession (photo)

Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei attended the last night of Muharram processions held at Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniya in Tehran. The ceremony marks the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who, together with 72 of his companions and family members, was martyred in an unequal war against the tyrant of the time, Yazid ibn Muawiyah.
