Nazar Ali, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Republic of Indonesia, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) conducted on the sidelines of the 37th International Islamic Unity Conference noted that the conference is one of the momentums for the Muslim world to be united.
"We are facing conflicts and wars across the world of Islam; therefore, the most important thing is to take good lessons from Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) because we have one objective which is to unite world Muslims", he said.
Pointing out the instances of Qur’an desecration, he continued: "As Muslims we need to voice our objection with this act as “definitely wrong” because this is against the human rights and the freedom of religions."
"Freedom of speech is not against the religious liberty as well. We need to respect one another, other beliefs and we need to create religious harmony", Nazar Ali emphasized.
Referring to the attempt by the global arrogance for dividing Muslims, he added: "actually the propaganda by the media worldwide is not true that's why we need to promote truth."
"The most important thing we need to do is Tabayyon that means to clarify things to consider whether this piece of news is fake or not. If for example one media is providing false news, then we need to counter that with credible news", he concluded.
