A top Iranian Sunni cleric has deplored the ongoing Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip calling on the Muslim states to sever relations with the regime.

Akhoond Ahmad Ghorbanpour, manager of Khatam-ul-Anbia Seminary in Iran’s northern province of Golestan in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) highlighted the Qur’anic guidelines on confrontation with the enemies of Islam and necessity of solidarity among Muslims.
 
He said,” Muslim nation should boost solidarity with its elites and establish a massive power in face of the hostile powers.”
 
The cleric added,” Several non-Muslim nations have severed their ties with the Israeli regime while regrettably some Islamic countries remain ignorant towards the crimes committed by Israeli regime.”
 
Aknoond Ahmad Ghorbanpour concluded that the neutral stance of some Arab countries is a repercussion of normalized ties with the regime that has interconnected their benefits with those of the regime.
