Chancellor of Qom University stresses commonalities between religions and proposes the launch of the World Forum for Proximity of Divine Religions.

Ayatollah Ahmad Beheshti, head of Qom University in the third conference of the interfaith dialogue titled "Human Dignity In Islam and Christianity" held in the holy city of Qom said," Regarding the present situation of the world, Muslim and Christian scholars have to pay more attention to the commonalities of the two religions", reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Hailing the activities of the World Forum for the Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Ahmad Beheshti proposed the foundation of another forum in charge of proximity of all divine religions based on the commonalities of Abrahamic religions.

"Qur'an guides man towards unity among divine religions and stresses worshipping God as the common point between divine religions", said the member of the Expediency Council.

He also referred to the holy Bible where Jesus Christ (PBUH) said "I have no conflict with other divine prophets and here I promise you to revelation of another prophet after myself", hence all Christians are responsible to follow Jesus Christ in thinking and take measures towards the unity of religions."

In the third interfaith dialogue held in Qom University, the bishop board of Switzerland Pier Giacomo Grampa and Iranian top clerics and university students discussed the ways to boost unity between the divine religions.
