Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, attended the webinar held to mark Islamic proximity figure from Afghanistan, Molavi Ayaz Niazi, on Tuesday to warn of efforts that desecrate Islamic sanctities in a bid to divide Muslim world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” On the one side is the conflicts in some Muslim states and on the other hand is the satellite channels where some serve enemies interests and provoke people by desecrating sanctities in order to fuel the fires in the world of Islam and guarantee their economic and scientific domination over the world.”
In this webinar which was also attended by several Iranian and Afghan religious figures, Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari added,” Such people are concerned over prevalence of Islam and concerned if formation of unified Islamic nation materializes since the achievement will abolish their political and economic interests in the Islamic states.”
The cleric highlighted peace as number one principle in Islam and noted,” Peace is a Qur’anic principle which should be pursued if conflict is sparked in Muslim world” and warned of war which has plagued some countries across the world of Islam.”
The cleric also called for compassion to replace minor struggles to boost fraternity among Muslims and referred to outbreak of the coronavirus as an instance which summons utmost compassion and cooperation among all people.
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressed that maintaining respect for different ideologies should turn into a habit and style of life as our differences should not make the basis for disrespecting each other.
He noted that the fourth step in line with boosting fraternity is to maintain the disciplines of living in diversity since respecting these differences will unite us in a body.
Top Iranian cleric called on Muslim scholars across the globe to warn Muslims of conflicts and desecration of other Islamic denominations in their speeches and sermons and maintain the path of Molavi Ayaz Niazi as a martyr of Islamic proximity.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari hailed prominent Afghan figure as a harbinger of Islamic unity to whom dispersion of Muslims was a great concern.
A graduate of Al Azhar University and professor at Kabul University, Molavi Ayaz Niazi struggled for Islamic unity whose efforts provoked enemies to plan his assassination in a bombing attack in 2020.
