“Islamic proximity mingled with life of Ayatollah Taskhiri”: former PM
Iraqi secretary general of Islamic Dawa has released a message to extend condolences over passing of Iran’s top Islamic unity figure, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri noting that proximity and boosting relations among Muslim scholars stand for the late scholar.

Nouri al-Maliki, former Iraqi premier in his condolence message hailed former secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for nearly four decades of endeavor to strengthen the relations between elites and scholars from across Muslim world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Secretary general of Iraq’s Islamic Dawa praised the late scholar for persistence to carry out his religious responsibilities across the world of Islam despite physical ailments.
He called Ayatollah Taskhiri as a knowledgeable scholar who spared no effort for Islam and Muslim states.
Nouri al-Maliki praised the late advisor of Supreme Leader as a pioneer of religious insight whose name would stand for Islamic proximity due to over 38 years of efforts.
According to former Iraqi prime minister Ayatollah Taskhiri, during the past five decades, had turned to an enlightening figure not only among Shia but also across the entire world of Islam.
He called the passing of the late Iranian cleric as loss of a great brother, sincere friend and unique supporter.
Nouri al-Maliki offered sympathies with the Iranian and Iraqi nations, seminaries in Qom and Najaf and also jurisprudents over loss of a role model.
Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri was a member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts and an advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs. The late scholar was widely known for years of endeavor in line with unity of different Islamic denominations.
The 76-year old scholar passed away due to heart disease in a hospital in Tehran on Tuesday August 18.
