Azerbaijan hails Supreme Leader comments on Nagarno-Karabakh conflict

Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry has issued a message on Wednesday to extend gratitude over the recent remarks by Iran’s Supreme Leader calling for an end to Nagarno-Karabakh conflict.

Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry in its Tuesday message has hailed Ayatollah Khamenei over his remarks on Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict stressing swift end to the conflict and liberation of Azeri territories occupied by Armenia, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The supreme Leader in part of his online speech delivered concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said,” This military conflict must end as soon as possible. Of course, all the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia must be liberated and returned to Azerbaijan,”
 
The Leader in his message also noted that the security of Armenians must be preserved and international borders must be respected by the warring sides.
 
Azerbaijan lauded Ayatollah Khamenei for supporting the territorial integrity of the country and expressed gratitude for Iran’s endeavors for resolving the conflict between the two neighboring countries.

Azerbaijan also vowed that the mutual relations between Tehran and Baku will contribute to prevalence of peace and stability in the region.
