"Terrorism misused religion to invade Iraq", Pope Francis
Leader of the Christian Church has slammed terrorism for invading Iraq in disguise of religion in a mass held in the ancient city of Ur on the second day of his historical visit to Iraq.

Pope Francis called for interfaith unity in his speech as he toured the ruins of the ancient city of Ur, traditionally held to be the birthplace of Prophet Abraham (PBUH), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said," Terrorism, in invading Iraq, invaded a part of history" and expressed regret over killing and misbehavior with Yazidis particularly the children.
The pontiff held interfaith mass jointly attended by Muslims, Christians, Jews, Yazidis and Sabians in his visit to Ur saying," The heaven has gifted us with unity and this strengthens our fraternity."
Pope Francis urged respect for common humanity and not forgetting fraternity as all people are descendants of Prophet Abraham (PBUH).
He slammed terrorism and violence for misusing the name of religion and urged for ways to prevent terrorism appears in disguise of religion.
"In fact terrorism, in invading Iraq, invaded a part of history" said the pontiff and called for respecting freedom of religions as a basic right for all.

The leader of Christian church met with top Shia jurisprudent Ayatollah Ali Sistani on Saturday discussing a number of issues from Palestine, to interfaith tolerance and terrorism.
