Irans Foreign Ministry commemorates Nowruz 1400 ahead of Persian New Year

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and a number of representatives from other countries attended "Nowruz 1400, Nowruz for Friendship" to commemorate the traditions and rituals of great cultural event, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Iranian Foreign Minister in this ceremony noted that the Persian New Year is in fact a cultural festival which marks the renaissance in nature and the upcoming event this year it is a festival which marks the beginning of new century.

He expressed hope that the Persian New Year marks the end of COVID-19, oppression and sacntions.

He said that the circumstances of the new coronavirus pandemic showed how inseparable our lives are saying," Corona and its circumstances taught us that we cannot lead a happy and secure life while others are unhappy and insecure."

Ceremony on "Nowruz World Traditions and Rituals" was held at Iran's Foreign Ministry on Monday to mark the beginning of the Persian New Year and beginning of the new century according to the solar calendar commonly used by Persian language countries.

Iraq, Iran, India, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Albania, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Pakistan and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are the countries which formally mark Nowruz.
