Iran holds interfaith iftars to boost resistance, Islamic unity
Iran's Islamic Development Organization has scheduled to hold interfaith iftar meals for Shia and Sunni scholars, a move to boost solidarity between religious groups.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Taqi Sifaee, manager of Religions Affairs at the Islamic Development Organization announced "Resistance and Unity Iftars" as the title for iftar meals held in more than 100 interreligious cities, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
2500 prominent Shia and Sunni scholars attend the interfaith iftars called "Resistance and Unity Iftars."
He said the iftar gatherings, attended mainly by the Sunni scholars, begin before the Adhan as participants exchange views on resistance before performing communal prayer and having iftar meal together.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Taqi Sifaee noted that the objective behind this program is to boost the friendly ties among scholars from different denominations across the country and also exchange of views on the issue of Palestine, al-Quds and resistance of Muslims.
He noted that special health protocols against the new coronavirus are observed in these gatherings which convene at most 20-30 people and added that a sum of 2500 scholars are expected to attend the 100 iftar meals scheduled to be held during Ramadan 2021.
Manager of Religions Affaits at Islamic Development Organizations concluded that "Resistance and Unity Iftars" make part of programs to use the holy month of Ramadan in a bid to boost the solidarity between Shia and Sunni scholars and also promote the topic of resistance among Muslims.
