UN calls on Taliban for "immediate halt" of ops in Afghanistan
The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called on the Taliban militants to return to the negotiation tables and "immediately halt" their operations against the Afghan government forces.

The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres speaking at a presser on Friday expressed concern over the growing demand for humanitarian needs as the Taliban militants advance in the country.
He expressed regret over death and injury of over 1,000 people during the one month Taliban attacks and occupation of the cities.
The militant group has intensified its attacks to capture more cities from the government forces following the pullout of the US forces from the war-torn countries.
Taliban militants have so far captured more than a dozen provincial capitals among them Lashkar Gah, Feroz Koh and Herat.
