"World is in dire need of humanity", Huj. Shahriari
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said the west maintains utilitarian view on human rights and keeps silent when its interests are not involved.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in his remarks at the ceremony to sign Islamic human rights agreement with four other Islamic centers in the capital Tehran and criticized a western liberal view which uses the human rights as a means when its interests demand, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said," When the interests of western countries are not fulfilled it highlights human rights and when its benefits are not guaranteed it keeps silence."
He referred to the different reactions regarding the violation of human rights in Ukraine and Yemen saying," A comparison of the situation following outbreak of conflict in Ukraine and Yemen war reveals the hypocrisy of western countries when they let out cries on human rights on Ukraine but remain silent on Yemen war."
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari stressed noted that the reason why religious institutions have stood next to the human rights secretariats is that man is in dire need of humane values introduced by Islam."
Senior Iranian cleric expressed hope that the agreement would provide the grounds for introduction of Islamic human rights to the world people.
