Belarus eager to shore up ties with Iran

Expressing the desire to develop relations with Iran, the Belarusian ambassador to Iran said that the development of regional relations is of special importance for Minsk.

Visiting the Special Zone of Mining and Metal Industries of the Persian Gulf, meeting with the President of Hormuzgan University, Chairman and members of specialized commissions of Bandar Abbas Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture were among the plans of the Belarusian Ambassador and accompanying delegation on a two-day trip to Bandar Abbas.
 
"Dmitry Koltsov, the Belarusian ambassador to Iran, stated on Sunday evening in a meeting with Mahdi Dousti, the governor-general of Hormuzgan, in Bandar Abbas,  that  Belarus has a special interest in the transit of goods through Iran whose origin or destination is Belarus, and in this regard, the capacities of Shahid Rajaei port in Hormuzgan province are important.
 
"Belarus is ready to increase the level of trade with Iran and to provide the presence and investment of Iranian companies," Koltsov said.
