Explication, necessity for materialization of Islamic unity, , Huj. Shahriari

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, senior cleric visited the 33^rd Tehran International Book Fair on Sunday stressing Islamic unity as an objective highlighted in holy Qur'an, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to the Islamic Revolution as a beginning point for the objective of Islamic unity and that it aims to achieve the objective by proximity, compassion and convergence among different Islamic denominations.

"Naturally we are in dire need of explication and campaigns to achieve Islamic unity" said the scholar and added," To that end we should confront hostile plots for division, Takfir (excommunication), terror and desecration of sanctities as well as disrespecting other denominations in social networks."

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought noted," We intend to perfectly fulfill our mission for explication of Islamic teachings by attending gatherings like International Book Fair."

According to the cleric more than 200 books on Islamic unity and proximity of Islamic denominations and also works on Islamic studies have been shown at the 33^rd Tehran International Book Fair.

The 33^rd Tehran International Book Fair is underway in the Iranian capital on May 11-21, 2022 following two years of closure due to the COVID-19 circumstances.
