Iranian, Russian scholars discuss key role of Islamic unity in Moscow meeting

Iranian delegation of religious and cultural figures met with Russian clerics in a meeting hosted by embassy of Iran in the capital Moscow.

Led by Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Iranian delegation of Shia and Sunni clerics met with Russian scholars at the embassy of Iran in Moscow, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Iranian ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali in this meeting referred to the trip by President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi to Russia and his meeting with top Russian muftis reiterating the role of Muslims in Tehran-Moscow relations.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari appreciated the inspiration by Iranian ambassador to hold the meeting and called endeavors to boost Islamic proximity as a key diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 
Top cleric also related on the agendas of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought as a major Islamic unity center in Iran and the efforts to bridge the differences between Muslim communities across the globe.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Akbari, representative of the Supreme Leader, Hujjat-ul-Islam Mouseli, representative of Ayatollah Sistani in Moscow and a number of leaders of Islamic centers as well as Shia and Sunni elites exchanged views on necessity of unity among Muslims.
