Iranian Foreign Minister, in a meeting with participants of the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference referred to unprecedented incidents which aimed to divide Shia and Sunni people in Iraq following the 2003 US invasion against the Arab country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He also referred to several instances of efforts to sow discord between Shai and Sunni Muslims in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan and Lebanon.
Top official condemned the foreign interference over the recent riots sparked over death of young Iranian woman Mahsa Amini and demanded,” Who believes that death of an Iranian would matter for the western countries? If that is the case then what was their reaction to hundreds of thousands of martyrs in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Lebanon?
Iranian Foreign Minister stated,” There was no picture of Mahsa Amini in Zahedan riots and a famous terrorist group struggled to spark clashes between Shia and Sunni communities there same as what happened in Kurdistan province but all plots were foiled due to vigilance of the Sunni scholars and people.”
He called Islamic unity as a legacy left by the late founder of Islamic Revolution for the Muslim nation beside the other great legacy, International Quds Day.
“I am honored to announce that Islamic Iran, despite all pressures imposed by enemies, will continue the same support it has had for the Palestinian resistance groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad for the Shia and Sunni resistance as well as the Christian resistance movements in Lebanon.
A number of foreign participants to the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference also delivered speech in presence of Iranian Foreign Minister.
