Iran, Syria discuss facilitating pilgrimage between countries
Head of Iran’s Organization of Hajj and Pilgrimage met with Syria’s Minister of Transport to discuss ways for facilitating religious tourism between the two countries.

Seyyed Sadeq Husseini in his meeting with Zohair Khazim, Syrian Minister of Transport and the two sides expressed enthusiasm for removing issues and facilitating ways for transport of pilgrims between Iran and Syria, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Officials from both sides stressed necessity of taking measures to boost the religious tourism industry and referred to facilities provided for air travels, airport services and ways to reduce the transportation costs.
They also stressed that the move will contribute to increasing economic and commerce and expansion of transportation between Iran and Syria.
Much respected by the Shia Muslims, the holy shrine of Hazrat Zeinab (AS), sister of Imam Hussein (AS) is located in Damascus which will make a certain destination for Muslim pilgrims following the end of war in the country.
