Over a dozen Iranian companies attending Istanbul Halal Expo
13 Iranian knowledge-based companies are attending the 9th Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Halal Expo underway in Istanbul.

Halal producers from 30 Muslims countries are showcasing their Halal products and services at the event, according to Anadolu Agency.
The Iranian companies have taken part in the expo in coordination with the Iran Trade Promotion Organization and with the cooperation of the international affairs department of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran.
Yemen, Iraq and Algeria have also been represented at the exhibition for the first time.
The participating countries seek to develop trade and economic ties and enhance mutual investments and partnerships in the Halal industry, which has seen exceptional growth in recent years both in Muslim and non-Muslim countries.
The global halal market, including Islamic finance, food, tourism, cosmetics, medical products and textiles, totals $7 trillion, according to World Halal Summit Council.
The four-day event showcasing a variety of products and services conforming to Islamic guidelines, known as Halal, got underway in Istanbul on Thursday and will conclude today.
The 8th World Halal Summit was also held in the Turkish city along with the Halal expo. The summit included forums discussing Halal standards and ways to promote Halal trade in the Muslim world.
In a message read out at the opening ceremony, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hailed the halal market’s growing international prominence.
He said its reach extends well beyond just Muslims to every person seeking quality products and services.
