Israeli rabbi, extremist settlers defile al-Aqsa Mosque

Dozens of extremist Jewish settlers have stormed al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards on Tuesday protected by Israeli police.

164 settlers, including rabbi Yehuda Glick, desecrated the Mosque in groups under tight police guard in the morning, according to local sources.

The Israeli police reportedly intensified their presence at the entrances and gates of the Aqsa Mosque and forced Muslim worshipers to leave its courtyards as settlers were flocking into the holy site in groups.

Police officers also imposed entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the entrances and gates of the Mosque and prevented many of them from entering the holy site, while they allowed in others after seizing their IDs.

The move has been made in the wake of Israeli far-right minister Itmar Ben-Gvir storming the holy site which was later condemned widely by international organizations.
