Hamas says Palestinians always ready to defend al-Aqsa Mosque

Spokesman of the Palestinian resistance movement Mohamed Hamada has slammed the Israeli far-right security minister Itmar Ben Gvir for touring the Old Jerusalem and stressed the Palestinian people's preparation to defend the holy site.

Hamas spokesman has called Ben Gvir’s tour of the Old City of Jerusalem as “insistence on fueling tensions during the last 10 days of Ramadan.”
 
In press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) on Wednesday, spokesman Hamada said that “the Palestinian people are always ready to defend the Aqsa Mosque and will foil all the settlers’ malicious plans.”
 
He stressed that the intensive presence of Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque for prayers and I’tikaf (religious retreat) is the protective shield for the Aqsa Mosque against settlers’ Judaization plots.
