Some of the activists reportedly chained themselves to the main doors of the consulate building.
The sit-in was organized to protest the new four billion dollars that were taken from American taxpayers’ money and given to the Israeli government to finance its settlement activity and its violations against the Palestinians.
In a related context, members of the US Green Party distributed to passers-by in New York posters explaining how the American taxpayers lose considerable amounts of their money because of the successive administrations’ funding of Israel’s military and settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to one of the posters, the new financial aid to Israel is sufficient to provide health insurance for more than 1,300,000 American children and homes for 450,000 low-income families.
This is while Israeli regime has decided to allocate millions of dollars for expansion of illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
