Iraqi cleric stresses:

“Ayatollah Taskhiri was a diligent scholar in path of Islamic unity”

A senior Iraqi cleric highlighted piety and scientific capabilities of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri as most important features of the late Iranian cleric.

Ayatollah Sheikh Javad Khalesi, attending the commemoration ceremony of top Islamic unity figure, late Ayatollah Taskhiri held in the capital Tehran called Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought as a giant step in line with building Islamic unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He reiterated the key role of Ayatollah Taskhiri in the path of Islamic solidarity and called the late cleric as a pious, diligent and practical figure who did not stop endeavoring even throughout deteriorating health condition.
 
“Ayatollah Taskhiri was a leading preacher in the world of Islam who defended the close ties between Shia and Sunni communities though he faced much criticism for his thoughts” noted the cleric.
 
He said,” In holding such meetings we carry out only part of our responsibilities towards our brothers who have contributed to promotion of Islam.”
 
The fourth scientific meeting on harbingers of peace and Islamic unity was held on the biography, ideology and thoughts of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri.
 
The Wednesday meeting was jointly held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Humanities Research Center and Organization of Islamic Promotion.
