Cleric warns of sectarianism in Muslim world

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has warned of sectarianism affecting the world of Islam.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in his speech at Khatam-Unnabiyyin Seminary, in the Indonesian capital Jakarta said to follow the path of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Zeinab (AS) is a mission for all Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 

He quoted the verse 103 from Surah Ale Imran:” And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together…” and stressed,” certainly an analysis for “the rope of Allah” is holy Qur’an itself since God Almighty has descend that from heaven to guide the mankind.”

 

According to the cleric prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of the prophet of Islam are the first addressees as they interpret the holy book for the ordinary people.

 

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari referred to the bistory and function of Umayyad dynasty and their interaction with the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and said,” The reason for the merciless killing of Prophet Mohammad’s descendants only 60 years after the prophet was their greed for power and ruling.

 

The cleric concluded,” Sectarianism has plagued the world of Islam and caused such catastrophes while our present mission is to follow the path of Imam Hussein and Hazrat Zeinab (AS).”

 

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the comments on the beginning days of Muharram, first month in the Islamic lunar calendar.

 

Muharram marks the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and 72 of his companions in the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD.
