Iranian diplomat: Syria unaffected by Libyan developments

Beirut - Taqrib News Agency (TNA) - Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ghazanfar Roknabadi assured that "Iran is supporting legitimate demands and reform of all the peoples of the world.

The Iranian diplomat said " What is happening in some Arab countries is quite different from what is happening in Syria. In Syria there is right demands to reform that we are alongside and supporting it and President Bashar al-Assad began the implementation of these reforms before they ask him, as the majority of Syrian people support their system" but along with these demands of reform, we find a movement made by the United States and "Israel" to hit the stability and security in the region as a whole.

Roknabadi said "On this basis, we can not stand beside artificial movements backed by the Americans and Israelis, but we support the popular movements that are in the face of the Israeli project, and the U.S." , stressing on the need to implement and activate the agreements signed between Lebanon and Iran, as soon as possible.

About the impact of the fall of the Libyan regime on Syria, Roknabadi replied: "No effect of the fall of the Libyan regime and there is no connection with the Syrian regime [government]."
