Leader calls on students to follow path of Imam Hussein (AS)

Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has admitted a group of university students on the occasion of Arba’een which marks the 40th day after martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS).

In this ceremony held in Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniya in the capital Tehran, the Leader called on the students to firmly follow the path of Imam Hussein (AS), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 

Ayatollah Khamanei in his remarks called on the students to march firmly in the path of Imam Hussein (AS).

The Leader said the youth should not be diverted from the direct path by “Satanic attractions.”
 
Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed resistance as the factor that would lead the youths to conquer mountaintops calling on them to be a “light torch” on his surroundings.
 
In this ceremony, eulogists performed in commemoration of the third Shia Imam and his 72 companions who were martyred in a fight against the tyrant ruler of the time Yazid ibn Muawiya back in 680 AD.
 
People across Iran also held ceremonies in the streets as symbolic march annually held towards the holy city of Karbala.
 
Millions of pilgrims and tourists attend the great march towards the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), held on the occasion of Arba’een which sets a landmark in history of Islam.
