Iraqi thinker: Aim of Islamic cooperation is implementation of common values in Islam

Peace and mercy of God upon you all
Islamic cooperation is one of the common values, which should be implemented in practice. The aim of Islamic cooperation is implementation of common values in Islam; it means that common values in lofty principles of Islam. Islamic cooperation is necessary any time and in any juncture. Scientists and Muslims should always have cooperation and synergy with each other so that Islamic Ummah from various walks of life be able to lead peaceful co-existence based on Shariah and religion, keeping immune of danger of foreign enemy. As you know, there are efforts underway abroad to harm ranks of Islamic Ummah as is the case against other nations.
Islamic Ummah is like a solid fortification which continues to be upright and God willing it will remain as it is because the lofty values that Islam has brought for Islamic Ummah are all divine values. God Almighty considers the values as the criteria for assessing personality of man, and healthiness and cleanness of his innate. God Almighty has set the values to let community of human beings be immune of any satanic plans. Through the plans, enemies want to divert human beings from the right pay and put them in the direction of annihilation and bewilderment. God Almighty descended Holy Quran to tell us there are signs in the book that we human beings are distinctive. Holy Quran shows that humans are distinctive of other creatures. However, walking on two feet, having human appearance, and thinking wisely cannot make him distinctive of other creatures. What make human beings distinctive of other creatures are his personality and the degree of his adherence to lofty values, which brought sacred mission of Islam. Therefore, cooperation among Islamic nation of various walks of life, especially at a time when extensive hegemony is launched against innate of human beings and communities of mankind worldwide, is a must.
Even in the corrupt western countries we are witnessing such hegemonies against mankind. Many strata, communities, families and persons in western countries are fed up with such corrupt hegemony against human innate. The main goal of the hegemony is ruining the values remaining for human beings. Those guiding the hegemony want to target all mankind communities. Evidently, Islamic communities are the main target of those orchestrating hegemony against mankind. Hence, constant relationship among Muslim strata is very necessary. The relationship should be kept even in social networks as well. Relation among different strata of Muslims should not be seasonal or restricted to a special occasion like birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and unity week. It should be noted that Islamic Unity Week marks week of loyalty. Celebration of the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) means showing tribute and affection to him, his household and dear companions. On the occasion, we show our friendship to companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who continued his path.
Therefore, all of us should constantly have relationship with each other and launch joint efforts to realize movement of Islamic Ummah. The aim of the common cooperation is saving both ourselves and mankind, i.e., the people who want to move in line with guidance and faith. The important issue is that certain people may ask what are the benefits of holding conferences like Islamic Unity Conference? You know, this is the 37th International Islamic Unity Conference (IIUC - 37th). These issues were also raised in the former rounds of the conference. My response to the above question is that today, we need to reconsider the former measures. We should review the decisions made in the former conferences and assess to what extent we have successfully acted in the decision makings. This is not out of weakness but on the basis of powerful investigation of realities. Perhaps, the most important achievement in the period in the past is that Islamic Ummah managed to resist hegemonies by relying on Islam and Unity. Through the resistance and perseverance, Islamic Ummah managed to foil the discordant project, that has over the past 10 years been targeting the region. By the said project I mean the sectarian plot, religious battle, war among governments and efforts to invade Islamic personalities and nations.
Failure of the project is one of the fruits of resistance of unifying Islamic project. Scientists resisted in this path. Today, we have passed the crucial phase and we should strive to overcome challenges against man and his nature. We should use past experiences so as to begin new phase of Islamic unity sincerely, thus children of the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will be able to get together around principles of faith. God Almighty says in Holy Quran, “The Messenger believes, and so do the believers, in the guidance sent down upon him from his Lord: each of them believes in Allah, and in His angels, and in His Books, and in His Messengers. They say: “We make no distinction between any of His Messengers. We hear and obey. Our Lord! Grant us Your forgiveness; to You we are destined to return.”
Lofty values and huge principles are what make Islamic Ummah distinctive of other nations. These are the principles that get us together. We should be steadfast in safeguarding and protecting the principles so as move in direction of real unity. What is necessary is concentration on the big commonalties. Discordant issues should also be entrusted to scientists so as to exchange views about them in the research centers. The media, satellites and social networks should not be used to sow seeds of dissension. That’s exactly what enemies do. We should use the media and even social networks to invite all to Islam and lofty values and Islamic unity. This way, we will be able to protect our present status and avoid implementation of enemies’ plans to undermine role of Muslims in building Islamic Ummah.
We should do two things during the conference. First of all, we should use the past experiences and guarantee our future security. Secondly, we should confront today’s challenges and threats. The goal of today’s challenges is removing Islamic Ummah and in general removing mankind. Contrary to certain people’s belief, war is not between Muslims and Christians any more today. Today’s war is not between east and west. Today’s war is between followers of Satan, mankind and his pure innate. Today, followers of Satan showed their real nature to community of human beings.
Finally, I should say peace be upon brothers participating in this conference and those in charge of holding it. I am thankful to efforts of all of you. We should maintain our constant relations and support the true unifying projects, especially in Iraq, because unity of Iraqi nation serves as a cliff targeted by many plots in the past. The plots, however, failed to remove the cliff. The unity (of Iraqi nation) may guide us to broad unity of Islamic Ummah. Unity of countries based on brotherhood in faith, the principles of good neighborliness and common interests to which all we need, will be possible.
