Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq:

“To defend Gaza is key necessity now”

Sheikh Kahlid al-Mala, head of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq stressed that the most important necessity now is to voice solidarity with the Gazans and to defend them, be it with one word.
“To defend Gaza is key necessity now”
Sheikh Khalid al Mala, speaking at the fourth edition of the webinar entitled “Operation al-Aqsa Storm”, warned against disunity among Muslims and reiterated importance of solidarity in the world of Islam as the Palestinians are under incessant Israeli onslaughts, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The Iraqi cleric alluded to the verse 103 of Sura Al-e Imran that call on Muslims to maintain unity by holding fast to the role of Allah and said,” As our brothers and sisters in Gaza are targeted in Israeli bombardment, we should recite this verse another way and that is to hold fast to the rope of Allah and not the rope of the US or Israeli regime.”

He noted,” I clearly say that one of the most important necessities today is to voice solidarity with Gazans and to defend them even with one single word.”

Iraqi top cleric stressed,” What happened on October 7th, turned the dreams of Israeli regime into ashes and revealed the crimes by the brutal nature of the regime to the world people” and added,” They (Israeli forces) imagined that the Gazans would not resist. They presumed that the resistance would die in Palestine and across the world of Islam. They had not properly read the history.”

Sheikh Khalid al-Mala hailed the massive pro-Palestine rallies held across the different countries and noted,” We need to clearly and loudly voice our support for our brothers in Gaza.”

The fourth edition of the international webinar entitled “Operation al-Aqsa Storm” has been held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought as religious and political figures from different countries condemn over a month of Israeli bloodshed in the besieged Gaza Strip killing more than 11,000 thousand Palestinians, mainly women and children.
