“AI to marginalize state organizations”, cleric

The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought detailed his views on role of the artificial intelligence in future world saying the new technology is expected to fade the role of state organizations.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in his speech at Faculty of Philosophy and Theology in Zagreb said promotion of the artificial intelligence is expected to particularly affect the future ruling systems reducing the necessity of several state organizations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” The key challenge in cyber space and the artificial intelligence is brought to the ruling of future world which is mainly run by AI.”
 
The cleric referred to three topics blockchain, big data and artificial intelligence and said,” Several state organizations are designed by the governments to act as observatory agents” and added,” Blockchain revealed that technology is capable of analyzing documents and that leads to a certain change to the governing systems as it eliminates necessity of the aforesaid observatory companies.”
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari referred to companies like the Amazon and major platforms that provide services for the people through big data consequently helping the ruling systems for a better management and efficient decision making for their organizations.
 
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought noted that several developments brought by the modern technology and artificial intelligence are seen only in science fiction movies.
 
The senior cleric also referred to the inflexibility towards the social realities and also the active interaction of man and machine as two issues to challenge the artificial intelligence.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari said,” The other issue is the engineers who encourage the rulers to use the artificial intelligence in line with better efficiency of their own ruling system.”
 
According to the top cleric politicians, rulers, scientists and engineers should fulfill their human responsibilities and prevent any possible harm by intelligence-run tools.
 
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought enumerated the four principles related to artificial intelligence: It should inflict harm, it should obey orders and not a tool to promote evil, it should not act independent from human and that it should act under human control.
 
The Iranian top cleric made the remarks in his speech at Zagreb university in part of his visit to Croatia.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari headed a delegation of religious and cultural figures to Croatia where he attended the international conference on “Philosophy in Islam” and delivered speech at Zagreb Friday prayer.
