Beirut - Taqrib News Agency (TNA) - Beirut - Taqrib News Agency (TNA) - Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan, Lebanon's Higher Islamic Shiite Council VP following his meeting with Lebanese Army commander, General Jean Kahwaji, confirmed that "The resurrection of Lebanon can be achieved by a strong army to protect the homeland and its people."

Qabalan said" We will not abandon supporting our national army and its officers and men are our brothers and our sons, and we will not shrink from any effort that supports unity and cohesion of the army and strengthen its national role in keeping the country and people safe."

He considered that "The preservation of the army is maintaining Lebanon", calling on Lebanese to rally around their national army.

"The situation in the region is bad and our army is a guarantee to save Lebanon and its people, and all Lebanese are asked to embrace the military and learn a lesson of what is happening around them in the Arab region, to backup their army in the maintenance of security and defending the country, " the vice-president said.

Qabalan greeted the Lebanese army by saying "Be united in keeping Lebanon's unity and its cohesion and to maintain its security, sovereignty and stability, and we will stay with you forever in the service of Lebanon and maintaining the security, independence and sovereignty".
