Sheikh Afif Nabulsi considered that Lebanon did not know a real reform of its institutions, and that all previous attempts for reform failed, and were aborted by the demon of sectarian and personal interests, and the of the political leadership and its sphere of influence.
During a meeting with a delegation of "The unitary Islamic Meeting" headed by Omar Ghandour and the presence of Dr. Bassem Sinan, Nabulsi wonderd " Why is this continuing humiliation of dignity of Lebanese citizens. Does the Lebanese have the right to enjoy electricity, water, telephone and medical care, education and other basic rights, like any people in the world?. Why we hear about trade-offs and compromises at the expense of citizens' dignity and humanity?. The fact that there is a disregard for the voices of the people, and their suffering and their demands for basic living, while there is a tyranny of some issues that revolve in the circle of political noise, and the bulk of political confrontations that are not useful, but in tension of language and religious sectarianism".
For his part, Ghandour considered that the insulting campaign on the Lebanese army and its leadership and its components is not a coincidence and not innocent, saying that "There is a suspicious campaign by a Lebanese team to weaken Lebanon, and it started by the Lebanese army, which is a force to Lebanon to claim foreign interference". He pointed out that all these plots and campaigns will not accrue only to the failure, and stressed on holding the Holy Trinity which is the army and the people and the resistance.
