The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has hailed the stance of Omani officials and scholars regarding the issue of Palestine.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in a meeting with Mohammed bin Said bin Khalfan Al Mamari, Oman’s Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, stressing the dire need of the Palestinian nation for the entire world of Islam to support them, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He referred to the harrowing images from massacre of the Palestinian children and women and bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip that have stirred world people to launch massive pro-Palestine rallies across the globe.
The cleric added,” Those who pursue looting natural resources in the region, have not ended their path of oppressing the weaker nations; therefore, according to the Qur’anic and religious teachings we are obliged to confront oppressors and oppression.”
Justice is a humanitarian and rational value necessary for all societies; hence, we should highlight such values common among all people rather than promoting merely Islamic values.
“Western countries led by the US and UK, intend to open their way into the region” said the cleric calling the Israeli regime as a cancerous tumor with whom all political and economic relations should be cut off.
He lauded Oman’s grand mufti for his effective role in the world of Islam and his support for unity among Muslims.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari also expressed Iran’s readiness to exchange scientific boards with Oman in an effort to promote Islamic teachings vis-à-vis western values.
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought hailed the friendly ties between Iran and Oman both before and after the Islamic Revolution.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari is leading a delegation of Iranian cultural and religious figures in a visit to Oman.
