Palestinian women, partner in victory of resistance

Fatemeh Mahrough, assistant professor of international relations at Ferdowsi university of Mashhad speaking at the 21^st webinar of the al-Aqsa Storm held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted the role of Palestinian women during years of fight against Israeli occupation and the recent Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

She said, “The advent of social media has led to more attention paid to resistance women across the Islamic countries.”

The elite women noted despite the subordinate narrative of women in social and political arenas, Palestinian women in their roles and changing consciousness have captured the imagination of the world.

Fatemeh Mahrough reiterated the different arenas which the Palestinian women has played effective roles including anti-occupation protests, journalism, medicine and as mothers raising resistance fighters.

She said,” Now, the world can hear the voices of Palestinian women in a different narrative. In this narration, Palestinian women have served a vital role in the resistance through history.”

The Iranian academic underlined the different narrative by Palestinian women from those brought by the west and said,” The resistance narrative is not surrounded by male activist, we can see women have a significant role in society.”
