Islamic unity not achieved unless in pursuit of Qur’an, Ahlul Bayt teachings

A Tunisian lecturer at Sorbonne University said the objectives of the Muslim nation will not be achieved unless by pursuit of teachings of holy Qur’an and Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Sayyid Muhammad al-Tijani, speaking to a group of visiting Indonesian pilgrims at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam, in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad, called on Muslims to settle their disagreements as a unified ummah (nation) of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The prominent professor of Islamic studies referred to verse 103 of surah Al-e Imran in holy Qur’an regarding importance of solidarity among Muslims and said,” We (Muslims) should move in the same path and follow same objective” emphasizing that the objective will not be achieved unless in pursuit of teachings by holy Qur’an and Ahlul Bayt (AS).
 
He said that the disagreements within the Islamic ummah are due to the different interpretations of holy Qur’an and that the Sunni community insists on following the lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) while the Shias pursue Ahlul Bayt (AS).
 
He noted that Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam and cousin of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), is the only guide to understand the teachings of holy Qur’an and Ahlul Bayt (AS).

 
The leader of Shia community in Tunisia also called Imam Ali (AS) as the path to achieve unity and learning to be a true Muslim.
 
Professor Sayyid Muhammad al-Tijani made the remarks in a meeting with a group of Indonesian pilgrims visiting the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
 
The holy shrine welcomes millions of pilgrims and visitors from different Islamic denominations as well as non-Muslims from across the globe.
